Metroplex Health System is the primary healthcare provider for West Bell, Coryell, and Lampasas counties, offering a wide array of medical and wellness services. The 233-bed, multi-campus facility is a not-for-profit Christian organization operated as a community service by Adventist Health System, which manages 37 hospitals and employs over 43,000. Adventist Health System is the 10th largest hospital system in the country. Metroplex also serves as the largest community health care provider to the military in the nation.
Dedicated to meeting residents’ needs for quality healthcare services, Metroplex has grown rapidly over the past few years. Metroplex Hospital provides 148 acute-care beds in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Pavilion-Behavioral Health Services and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. The system employs about 1,200 area residents and cares for more than 125,000 patients each year. Metroplex supports an exceptional staff of more than 260 physicians, representing 43 medical specialties.

Darnall Army Medical Center provides comprehensive health care to more than 145,000 beneficiaries that include active duty military, their family members, and retirees who live within 40 miles of the center.
The hospital opened in 1965, replacing the World War II era hospital that preceded it. As Fort Hood grew, so did the hospital. A massive addition and reconstruction project was completed in 1984 that included more operating rooms, a larger outpatient clinic, more delivery rooms, and an upgrade of the entire hospital interior.
Today, the facility has five primary care clinics, four troop medical clinics and 22 specialty clinics. Additionally, it hosts a Family Practice Residency Program, an Emergency Medicine Residency Program and a Phase II Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Program.

Today, Scott & White Healthcare is a fully integrated health system and is the largest multi-specialty practice in Texas, and the sixth largest group practice in the nation. Scott & White employs more than 775 physicians and research scientists who care for patients covering 25,000 square miles across Central Texas. Scott & White has a 636-bed Level I Trauma acute care facility in Temple, an additional 50-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital in Texas, another 150-bed acute care hospital in Temple, a 76-bed acute care facility in Round Rock (greater Austin area), and a network of 50 primary and specialty clinics throughout the region.
