Killeen Independent School District

The Killeen ISD serves Fort Hood, in addition to the cities of Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville, and the surrounding rural areas. Approximately 50% of all KISD students are military-connected. Through targeted support programs, KISD helps meet students social and emotional needs before, during and after deployment.

Texas A&M - Central Texas

Formally dedicated a stand-alone upper-level institution in 2009, Texas A&M - Central Texas represents the most important economic and community development initiative for the region since the establishment of Fort Hood in 1942.

Central Texas College

Founded over 40 years ago, Central Texas College is a public, open-admission community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in academic, professional and vocational/technical fields. With its main campus in Killeen, TX and over 100 other locations around the world, Central Texas College serves over 50,000 students on military installations, in correctional facilities, in embassies and on ships at sea.

Mary Hardin-Baylor

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, generally referred to as UMHB, is a Christian co-educational liberal arts institution of higher learning located in Belton, Texas, which is about 15 miles away from Killeen. UMHB has grown to approximately 2,700 students and and awards degrees at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctorate levels.
