Beer, glorious beer! ...at O'briens
Dan and I haven’t found many places to go out and have a drink in Killeen. There seem to be plenty of clubs and bars in the area but Dan is a bit of a beer snob so we need a place that serves more than Bud and Bud Light. I also prefer to drink with people my age as opposed to 21 year olds. So the closest places we have found that fit our requirements are in downtown Temple, about 30 minutes from Killeen.
O’briens has over 40 beers on tap with many more in the bottle along with all the other spirits you would expect to find in a good bar. The decor is dark wood and it’s easy to talk with friends even when the live music is going, which is almost every weekend. (www.obrienstemple.com)
Right around the corner is Green Door on 2nd Street. They don’t have quite the beer selection but they have a great piano man most Friday nights (check their schedule at www.greendoortemple.com) and I love to sing along to all my favorite pop songs from throughout the decades!
So it might be a little bit of a drive but with 2 cool bars to choose from and lots of beer and music, Temple might be your new favorite hangout.
